In Broward County, an artificial reef off of Hollywood Beach is nearing completion. The 18-foot-tall structure will provide habitat for marine life and enhance the diving and snorkeling experience. The reef will feature 350 tons of concrete modules and will be placed in 60 feet of water about a mile offshore. This project is a joint effort between the City of Hollywood and the Hillsboro Inlet Improvement and Maintenance District.
