Man Arrested After Assaulting Dunkin' Employee Over Food Wait Time in Pembroke Pines |
Incident at Local Dunkin' Leads to Arrest of Hollywood Resident |
A 36-year-old man from Hollywood, Florida, was taken into custody on Monday following an alleged assault on a Dunkin' employee in Pembroke Pines. The altercation reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the preparation time of his order.
Authorities responded to a call just before noon at the Dunkin' located at 9121 Pembroke Road. Upon arrival, an employee recounted witnessing the suspect, identified as Timothy Louis, engaged in a heated argument with another staff member regarding the delay in his food order.
According to the police report, the employee informed Louis that she was unable to prepare sandwiches and needed to wait for her colleague to return from the restroom. In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, the other employee briefly re-entered the bathroom.
Upon her return, she observed Louis claiming to be on the phone with 911, demanding a refund. As she began recording the incident, Louis allegedly seized a donut tray, stating he would take it if his refund was not granted. Noticing he was being filmed, Louis purportedly threw the tray at the employee and kicked her in the stomach, causing her to lose balance and fall.
Louis then fled the scene in a 2022 gray Honda Pilot. The employee sustained a minor chin laceration and stomach pain but declined medical transport. Police obtained her cellphone footage, which captured the tray being thrown before the recording ended.
Later, Miramar police located and stopped Louis' vehicle. The employee positively identified him, leading to his arrest. Louis, originally from Jamaica, is currently held at the Broward Main Jail on a battery charge, with bond set at $2,500.
