Community gathers to honor a century of growth and unity |
On Saturday, November 22, 2025, the city of Hollywood, Florida, marked its centennial with a vibrant festival at the ArtsPark at Young Circle.
Founded in 1925 by Joseph W. Young, Hollywood has flourished into a community of over 150,000 residents. The centennial event showcased vintage cars, historic fire trucks, and presentations reflecting the city's rich history. Attendees enjoyed a variety of food trucks, local vendors, and live performances by city leaders.
Local vendor Alnisa expressed her joy, stating, "I'm happy to be here tonight and I'm just celebrating 100 years of Hollywood. Tonight is super special... I'm just so grateful to be a part of this community."
Residents like Tracey Bivelo shared their affection for the city, saying, "I've wanted to live here forever. Our beach is beautiful. The people are great."
Families delighted in winter-themed attractions, including slides covered in faux snow, and a Christmas tree lighting that signaled the start of the holiday season.
The diverse crowd and evident hometown pride underscored a shared sentiment: Hollywood still feels like home. |
